John Lemon Obituary

JOHN C. LEMON John C. Lemon of Corona, California passed away at home in the early hours of Thursday September 17, 2009 at the age of 66. John was born in West Lauren, Ontario, Canada on September 16, 1943. He moved to Southern California in his early twenties and remained here for most of his adult life. He met and married his wife Virginia here. He was often heard to say that Virginia was the best thing that ever happened to him. John is survived by two sisters Sally of Brampton Ontario Canada, Grace of Scarborough Ontario Canada. His wife Virginia, three sons; Brad of Kansas City, Missouri, Lonnie of Huntington Beach, California, and Corbin of Washington state. Also by a daughter, Kerry Sledge of Corsicana, Texas. John also is survived by three stepdaughters and one stepson; Leonor of Corona, California, Angela of Riverside, California, Tina of Missouri and Mark of Florida. John was very proud to also have, 20 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter and was preceded in death by his brother Joe and a son Lindsay John Lemon. John had a huge heart of gold. You would be hard pressed to find anyone Who disliked John. Intelligent, good-hearted, talented and will be missed terribly by the many, many friends who knew and loved him. John was a natural-born story teller who could tell a story many times over and it was still as interesting as the first time he told it. John loved aviation. He held a pilot's license and was very much concerned with issues that face the Aircraft Owners and Pilots' Association. That fact makes it all the more appropriate to remember this line from a traditional song: "Fly like an eagle and land like a Dove...go find all the places you must have dreamed of."

Dear John,

If I ever had any questions with finances, real estate or retirement planning I knew that I could count on you to steer me in the right direction. You were like a walking encyclopedia and it amazed me how you just knew everything. You will truly be missed.

Rest in peace.

Love,

Angel

John, I was so dreading the day our world no longer had you in it. We spent so many thousands of hours talking about things large and small and I hung on your every word like it was cast on stone tablets. So many friends and family will miss you and your intelligence, caring, curiosity, wisdom and everything else that made up John Lemon.
To Quote you John, "if a man can love another man, then I have loved you."
More than a brother or friend, but someone with whom I could share anything without fear of judgment.
Virginia loves you so much but will be okay I think. She and Mark and the Girls brought so much class to a class act. Like Lonnie, I hope to rejoin you when the time comes. Just save some of the stories for me and we'll drink a cup of coffee and solve the problems of the world again.

I am going to miss you Pa! I will never forget the year we went to Canada and the road trip adventure, it will forever be in my memory. You were the rock that held us together when things fell apart. You always supported us in what ever path in life we took, even if it was a bad choice. You always had a great story to tell and I will miss that the most. Love you

Dad you will always be an inspration to me, your friends and family. You brought so much joy and happieness to all. You will be deeply missed. There are so many great words that can be spoken of you because you were man of men. If only I can be half the man you were, I will be satisfied. Hope to see you and here your words of wisdom on the other side. Your loving son LONNIE.
