Rick, I am so sorry for your loss. I never met your dad, but just the thought of him answering the phone and talking to me, when I thought it was YOU I was talking to, will always put a smile on my face.
May you and your family find some comfort in the fact that he is now with your mom again, and one day, you will all be together forever.
God Bless you all!

To my dear daddy and my friend,
You are my rock, dad, now my rock is in heaven. We've always been close but these last eight months that I have been here with you brought us even closer. To me, that is so bitter sweet. I love how close we are but I now miss you more than I could have ever imagined. I wouldn't trade that for the world. I'm so happy for you dad, now that you are in peace in heaven with mom. It's the selfishness in me that misses you so much and wishes you were still here. I'll get past that in time...it will take time, dad, so when you look down and see me crying, know that it's tears of happiness for you...and yes, tears of sadness for me. Dad, please give me the strength that you had...I need it, dad. I'm at my rock bottom right now and you are the one that would have held out your hand to pick me up...please reach for me from heaven...give me your hand, dad. I don't know how I'm going to do this without you but I'm going to do my very best...what you always did...and hopefully, I will be fine. I love you, dad, and miss you more than words can express. I won't say goodbye as I hope you stay with me through this tough time...and always. You fought hard in the hospital, your body was just tired. I am so proud to call you my father. I love you, love your favorite daughter, Kelly
