Richard Leonard Obituary

Richard Dale Leonard passed away at home on March 21, 2014. Richard was a resident of the Brinnon community.

He was born on February 13, 1950, to Joseph D. Leonard and Barbara (Canaday) Leonard in Eugene, Lane County, Oregon.

His service in Vietnam with the 1st Battalion, 4th Infantry Armored Division (H) saw a lot of action. As a result, he was wounded and received the Purple Heart four times during his tour of duty.

He is survived by his wife, Denise; sons Ian (Jiana), Sean, Jacob and Gregory; his mother, Barbara Leonard; sisters Ann Fedorchak and Bonnie Bose; his sister in-law, Emma Leonard; and brother in-law Randy Bose.

He is also survived by Amelia Rose, his 8-month-old granddaughter.

Richard was blessed with many nieces and nephews.

The family was informed by the Brinnon VFW Post 10706 that there will be a Memorial Day dedication at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 26, at the Brinnon Cemetery honoring the lives and service of our departed veterans. All are welcome to join us.
