Connie McBride Obituary

Connie Neil McBride

Pensacola - Mrs. Connie McBride went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 18, 2019. The PCC family will greatly miss her, and our prayers continue for her husband, Denis, and their children Joshua and Jarrod and their families. She was known for excellence as an elementary teacher, influence as a principal, encouragement as a mentor, and support as a pastor's wife. In 1986, Denis and Connie McBride came to Pensacola Christian Academy where she started as first grade teacher. Quickly earning a reputation for excellence, she became an elementary principal at PCA and served students, parents, and faculty for many years. Connie was a respected and compassionate mentor to other teachers. Her influence extended to education students at Pensacola Christian College and to Christian educators worldwide while she served as assistant editor for Abeka until her retirement in 2015. In recent years, her role was pastor's wife, encouraging the ministry of her husband at Campus Church.

Funeral service was held Sunday, January 20, 2019 at St. John Chapel @ PCC with Dr. Dale Adkins officiating. Interment is at Bayview Memorial Park Cemetery. FAITH CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME SOUTH, 100 Beverly Parkway, Pensacola, has been entrusted with arrangements. You may express your condolences online at www.fcfhs.com

To the McBride family,

I am truly sorry for the loss of a wonderful person. Even though I did not know Mrs. McBride personally, I had a good idea of who she was based upon the classes I took under Mr. McBride's tutelage. Mr. McBride's teachings had a profound effect on the way I think, and I am truly grateful to have been his student. He often spoke of her in class and I know that she was a major factor in what a great person he became. I offer now my condolences and I take joy knowing that Mr. McBride will see her again one day in Heaven.

Sincerely,
Ryan Kozak

My deepest condolence on pastor's wife Connie McBride's passing. I used to tune in the Rejoice in The Lord's service on Sundays and I'm deeply sorry to hear of her passing and pastor Denis Mc Bride's sorrow. He is one of my favorite pastors preaching the Word of God on TV on Pensacola Campus Church. I love the service each time and all his messages. God bless him and his family, and his passionate preaching and messages deeply touched my heart.

I had the honor of having Mr. McBride as my video teacher for Bible and history during the A Beka Academy DVD program, and I also enjoyed his sermons on Rejoice in the Lord. Mr. McBride always told how much he loved and cherished Mrs. McBride. She was a dear companion to him, and she will be missed by the Pensacola Christian College, Pensacola Christian Academy, and A Beka Academy family. She is now in the presence of her Lord, sitting at the feet of Jesus, and she and Mr. McBride will one day be reunited in that glad reunion day.

On behalf of my family, I want to thank all of my mother's friends and co-workers for their out-pouring of support. My mom would have thought it was too much attention! Mom was a remarkable woman. The perfect blend of excellence, love and grace to me and my brother. She was a remarkable grandmother and I will miss her physical presence in my life and the lives of my kids every day. We all appreciate your prayers and comments and my family knows that we will see mom again in heaven one day soon!

Through late afternoon PCA office chats, taking my work to add to her own, crazy education conference skit practices, and countless prayers for me, Connie was a tremendous encourager and friend. I am thankful for her Godly influence in my life and for her ministry to so many hundreds of others.

Mr. McBride, you too, were a great help to me during my years there and I appreciate your encouragement. I'm so sorry for your pain, but am rejoicing in Connie's permanent healing. I am praying for you and your sons.

Dear Mr. McBride and family,

I offer the McBride family my deepest condolences. As a video student of Mr. Denis McBride, I know how much my teacher loved his wife. Oftentimes Mr. McBride would speak of his wife in class; and when he did, everyone knew that Mr. McBride could not be the man that he is without Connie. He spoke of her as his "completer" and as God's perfect help-meet for him (Genesis 2:18). Having listened to Mr. McBride share his heart with his students, I could not help but marvel at the testimony of such a faithful man and wife. God has truly used the ministry of Mr. and Mrs. McBride to make me a better Christian. They imparted not only the gospel of God but also their souls to the hundreds of students they had the privilege of teaching (1 Thessalonians 2:8). I will forever be grateful for their ministry. My prayers are with Mr. McBride and his family. May God's peace and the soon-to-come glad reunion day comfort the hearts of those grieved. Until that reunion day, Connie McBride rests in the arms of Jesus her Lord and Savior.

Sincerely,
Nolan Bruggeling
