Dear Marilyn,

You and your family have my prayers and sympathy. One of my fondest memories is of one of your birthday parties-I think you were 7 or 8 and the wonderful time we had, all planned and made possible by your sweet mother. I think we had little plastic baskets with candy in them as favors, and we played under the pine trees at your home. I hope happy memories of your mother are a comfort to you.

Sincerely,

Gerald Smith

Judy, Marilyn and Beth, Your parents were strong and loving Christian parents. The example they set lives on in each of you and your children. Our grandparents first became friends in the early 1900's in Barrineau Park. Our parents were friends and I am so pleased to have known your mother ,father, Alan and each of you. I am saddened to learn of your mother's passing and understand your feelings. As you all move forward in faith and hope my prayers of support are with each of you and your families

Marilyn, Beth and Judy: We are very sorry for your great loss with the death of your mother. Aunt Frances was a kind and gracious lady. To me when your last parent dies, it is a more significant loss because this is the finale of one losing both of your parents. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Freeman and Jim McDonough

Dear Marilyn, Beth, and family members,
Bob and I were sad to learn of Mrs. Barrineau's death, but what a long, wonder-ful life she had. We are in North Carolina and won't be home for about another week, but we wanted you to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

To Frances' Beautiful Childen and Grandchildren:

I was saddened to learn of your Mother's passing.

Quite a few years ago, your Mother and Dad were neighbors to us. My husband Don Zollars (now deceased) and I lived across the street from your folks on Barcia Drive. We enjoyed many wonderful visits and thought so much of both of them.

Your Mother was such a beautiful and vital person, so very proud of her wonderful growing family.

May your memories you shared with her bring you peace and comfort at this sad time. She will be missed by all who knew her.

My daughter, SONJO CRONSON, also extends her sympathy.

Dear Marilyn and Beth, Kristin, Jeff, Brad and Britton; and Earle, Bob, Rich, Carol Ann, Maile and Bryan,
You and your extended family are in my thoughts and prayers. I've shared with some of you already how much it meant to sit down with Mr. and Mrs. Barrineau and listen to their memories of First Baptist, for a story in the "Glimpses Through Their Eyes" that some of the youth and youth teachers did as the student ministry's contribution to the sesquicentennial in 1997.
Their Sunday School teacher, church treasurer, children's Sunday School class, deacon, church music, pastors - going back to Dr. Wallace Rogers -- congregational New Year's gathering, old sanctuary, staff growth, new sanctuary and various other buildings stories and reflections through five generations will always stay with me. I count knowing them and visiting with them that day as a big part of the joys of having known and kept up with those at First Baptist and with much of First Baptist Church's history during my 42 years there.
Love y'all,
Rick
