Frances Rushing Obituary

FRANCES COOPER

RUSHING

1922 - 2015

Frances Cooper Rushing of Fort Walton Beach/Pensacola died peacefully at home, Wednesday, September 29th, 2015 in Fort Walton Beach, where she was able to view the Gulf she loved each day for the last 3 years.

Mrs. Rushing was born in Montgomery, Alabama in 1922. She and her husband, of 69 years Frank Sr., moved to Pensacola in 1968. Mrs. Rushing was a stay at home mom to her two boys, Rick and Frank, Jr. In the 80's she decided to go to work for Miles Furniture as an interior decorator. She was a member of East Hill Baptist Church for many years.

"Grammy" loved to fish and always caught the biggest and the most, whether in the Gulf or a Bass Lake.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Sr., and her older brother John Cooper.

Survivors include sons, Rick and Frank; younger brother, Richard Cooper; grandchildren, Blake Rushing (Christy), Chase Rushing (Samantha), Liz Cheeks (James) and Lauren Rushing; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would also like to extend our appreciation to her main caregiver and friend, Brenda Allie, as well as the other Home Instead caregivers. Additionally, her doctor of nearly 25 years, Don Blackmon, added immensely to her quality of life.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, October 6th, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., at Bayview Memorial Park, in Pensacola.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice, 220 Eglin Parkway NE, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32547.

BAYVIEW FISHER-POU CHAPEL, 3351 Scenic Highway, is entrusted with arrangements.
