George Hatzopoulos Obituary
1923 - 2009George Hatzopoulos, 85, of Pensacola, Florida passed away Thursday, January 1, 2009.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony Hatzopoulos and Jessie Christine Williams Hatzopoulos; his brothers Kenneth, Allen and Emmanuel Hatzopoulos; his son Ronnie Hatzopoulos and his grandson Bryan Hatzopoulos.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Eleanor Inez Moore Hatzopoulos; his daughter, Constance Werner Olander; sister, Helen Currey; granddaughter and husband, Laura Werner Brackett and John of Hermosa Beach, California; grandson and wife, Mike Werner and Crisanne of Eugene, Oregon; granddaughters, Kelly Durden and Jessica Hatzopoulos; great grandchildren Jeremy Ray Hall, Travis Durden and Melinda Durden and others.
Mr. Hatzopoulos served in the U. S. Army and was a businessman who operated George's Auto Parts for 40 years. He loved gardening and always planted enough for people and the critters and loved to fish. He lived on 30 acres on Dog Track Road for 32 years where he had a catfish pond, chickens, geese, baby goats and numerous fruit and nut trees. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with a viewing before from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Brother Bill Flannigan officiating.
Interment will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
Special thanks to Covenant Hospice of Milton; nurses Stacy and Andy; homecare givers Tina and Sunday; Dr. Jim Smith; Chaplain Ken Griffin and social worker Pam who always brightened Dad's day.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Covenant Hospice in memory of George Hatzopoulos.
Arrangements are by Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.

Connie & family,I wish to express my condolences for Georges passing,hope it was easy for him.I have known him & Ronnie since the early sixties but lost touch over the past 20 years.Brownsville was a wonderful place to grow up & had real & caring people years ago, I also mourn Brownsvilles passing.May your faith & memories comfort you knowing your fathers earthly pains are over forever.
