Matthew Browning Obituary

Matthew Ian Browning

1965-2015

Matthew Ian Browning, age 50, and son of the late John C. Browning, Sr. and Martha June Browning, passed away at home on Friday, October 2, 2015. He was the youngest of five children, born in Fayettville, NC, and traveled extensively while his father served a 24 year Army Special Forces career. The family settled in Pensacola, Florida, in 1972 where Matt went to Ferry Pass Elementary, Workman Middle and Escambia High Schools. Matt was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and nephew, and was a certified Aerospace and Propulsion (A&P) specialist. He was also an expert fisherman, avid craftsman and guitarist, generous friend and loved by all who knew him.

Matt is survived by his three daughters Ryan Marie McGraw (Geoffrey Ashley McGraw), Marissa Ariel Thomas (Janson Cary Thomas), Marcella Ianna Browning; grandchildren Allie-Elizabeth Marie, Alivia Ashleigh and Geoffrey Alexander McGraw; two brothers; two sisters; seven nieces; one aunt; seven uncles and numerous cousins.

The family is planning a private memorial service. Donations may be made in his memory to "Cast for Kids" (castforkids.org), an organization that provides one day fishing and boating events designed to accommodate children with a wide range of special needs.

The family would also like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all of the family, friends, neighbors and co-workers for all of the expressions of sympathy during our recent loss.

Lewis Funeral Home, Milton, has been entrusted with arrangements.

What a loss. Matt was my fishing buddy till I had to move away after the NADEP closure. I often think back remembering the good ole days while fishing or being towed back by the Coast Guard. I missed him all these years and will miss him more now.

My heart goes to my friend Matt, he was so sweet to me. We played pool about 2 years one night he said hoe he was going to blow me off the table, that didn`t happened I bet him about 4 out of 6 games . I loved it because the things he knew how to do he did real good at it. Maybe he let me win ! I loved him and have very good friends that knew him better. But he was a man ! May God get his family thou this sad time. R. I. P. one of my great friend .
