Penny Farrar Obituary
1940 - 2011
Penny Farrar passed away early Tuesday morning from complications of COPD. Born in Nebraska, raised in California, Penny traveled the U.S. extensively until making the Innerarity Point/Perdido Key area home for the past 15 years.
Penny peacefully joined her parents, Phyllis and George, son Stephen, niece Georgie, sister Laurie and dear friend William.
She leaves behind her her beloved daughter, Peggy Ohle of Colorado, her loving family in California, son Ken Ohle, sisters Judy Pierce, Bobbie Moore and their husbands, in addition to sister Terry Farrar of Wisconsin. She also leaves numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and friends from around the globe.
Penny passed away surrounded by love with her dear niece, Audrey Jewell and Brenda Turner, best friend of 42 years and her beloved animals by her side.
Penny was always the adventurous one in the family, living and working from Alaska to Hawaii, Montana to Florida and everywhere in between. Her wonderful stories, exciting adventures and varied hobbies filled us with awe, laughter and love. Penny was a true lady, loving, kind and gracious. She was a lover of beautiful places and things, good books, wonderful soaring music and good food.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew her, especially Brenda's family here in Pensacola, who were embraced by Penny's love, through 42 years of friendship.
Oak Lawn Funeral Home is handling the cremation. There will be no viewing or services at Penny's request. A celebration of Penny's life will take place at Perdido Key beach at a later time which will be announced.
We would like to thank Emerald Coast Hospice and their wonderful nurses and aides who helped make Penny's last days peaceful and comfortable. We also appreciate their many kindnesses which helped us cope in so many ways.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the local ASPCA in Penny's memory.

The austin family is deeply sadden to hear of the passing of miss Penny. We were her next door neighbor for the past three years. We cut her grass for her every week and enjoyed doing it. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family. May she rest in peace.
