1936 - 2016

Theodore H. Foret, Jr. "Ted" - Husband, father, good friend to all - passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016. He was 80.

Ted was born and raised in New Orleans, LA in the Iberville Housing Project on the edge of the French Quarter. A 1955 graduate of St. Aloysius High School (Brother Martin) going on to attend Auburn University on a football scholarship. He was a tackle on the 1957 Auburn team that finished 10-0 and won the school's first National Championship. After graduating from Auburn in 1959, he played football professionally for 2 years and coached at the high school level for 7 years.

Ted began his computer career in 1966 working for CSC in Huntsville, AL at NASA. He then worked for Potomac Research and later Vanguard Technologies developing a nationwide network of computer software professionals supporting a variety of federal and state programs. As Executive Vice President, he managed business growth from 1 to over 850 people in Alabama, Nevada, Denver, Washington D.C., San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, New Orleans and locations across the nation. Ted was respected and loved by employees and clients alike. Ted and Juie moved to Gulf Breeze in 1987 where they helped their children establish their own businesses.

Ted is survived by Juie, his wife of 57 years; his six children, Ted III, Todd, Thad, Renee, Reese, Robin and John Cornett and "adopted" son Sam Lundy. He was the proud grandfather to Caroline, Sarah, Lillie, Anna, Josephine and Teddy. "Big Daddy" was #76 in your Auburn football program but #1 in our hearts! He will be dearly missed.

Ted and I were at Auburn at the same time----Some of my most memorable days are those Saturday games watching Auburn at Ted and Juie's home---Another Auburn great, Jack Burkett was there---He and Ted would give mock demonstrations about how to block and tackle while remarking that young players simply did not do it correctly---I consider one of the most memorable times of my life was being at Ted's and Juie's home on a Saturday watching Auburn games---I miss him greatly---Max Shumack

My first year at Auburn was 1957---The same year Ted and his team mates made number 1---Ted and Juie invited Sherrie and I to watch games at their home and those memories will always be special--My best memory will always be when that little granddaughter no more than age 5 interupted Ted's demonstration about how to tackle an opponent by crawling up into his lap to get his attention---I consider myself blessed to know and to be with him and his family here in Gulf Breeze

Ted,
Your father's life resembles a true Horacio Alger story! His accomplishments never affected his modesty and generosity. Moreover, the success of his children is further testimony of his legacy. His loss to those who loved and respected him is beyond measure, and to them we extend our condolences.
