Charles Winchell Obituary

HAWESVILLE – Charles Francis Winchell, 73, of Hawesville, Ky., died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, at the Heartford House in Owensboro, Ky.
He was born Oct. 14, 1940, in Hardinsburg, Ky., to the late Charles G. and Isabelle Mattingly Winchell. Charles was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cloverport, Ky. He was a farmer all of his life.
He and his late wife, Linda, were named Man and Woman of the Year at the Sacajawea Festival in 1986.
Charles was also preceded in death by his parents and a son, James Francis Winchell.
He is survived by a son, David Winchell of Hawesville; two daughters, Debbie Muse (Troy) of Hardinsburg; Donna Bozarth (George) of Lewisport, Ky.; two brothers, Tom Winchell (Shirley) of Hardinsburg and Mike Winchell (Renetta) of Philpot; three sisters, Judy Shelton and Nancy Smith, both of Owensboro and Mary Pence of Knottsville, Ky.; six grandchildren and a special friend, Georgia McFarling.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Sept. 23, from 3-8 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 208 East Main Street, Cloverport, KY. Prayers will be held at the funeral home at 6 p.m. Tuesday evening.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 24, at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cloverport with burial in the Calvary Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the Heartford House, 2914 Old Hartford Road, Owensboro, KY 42303.
