Jacob Wagner Obituary

TELL CITY – Jacob Allen "Jake" Wagner, 12, passed away Monday, March 27, 2017, in Hawesville, Kentucky, along with his mother, Ericka Dowell, from injuries as a result of a car accident.
Jake was born in Tell City, on June 7, 2004 to Jeremy Wagner and Ericka Thompson.
Jake was a seventh grader at Tell City Junior-Senior High School, where he played football, baseball, basketball, and enjoyed all sports. He loved to attend and participate in youth group at Mt. Zion Community Church in Harned, KY, with his mother. A typical boy, Jake liked hunting and fishing, tinkering with cars, playing video games and being with his friends and family. He was a kind hearted boy who thought of others before himself.
Surviving are his father and step mother, Jeremy "Tank" and Ashley Wagner, Tell City; sisters, Kelsey and Katie Wagner, at home; step father, Scotty Dowell, Harned, Ky.; step brothers, Alex, Darrion, Brayden Dowell and Caleb Mattingly; grandparents, Keith and Margie Wagner and John and Jenny Brunner, all of Tell City; David A. Jr. and Cindy Thompson, Cannelton , Anna Thompson, Hawesville and Sherry Moore of Tell City; great grandmother, Elizabeth Simpson, Tell City; aunts and uncles, Jason (Kelly) Wagner of Owensboro, Sunshine Whistle, Eva Brunner, and Andy Brunner, all of Tell City and John (Tammi) Brunner Jr. of French Lick, Misty (Marty) Jones of Tell City and David Thompson, Hawesville; cousins, Bo, Nolan, Kamden, Zach, Travis, Lucy, Lyndy, Madison, Hanna, A.J., and Hunter Senn, who was his best friend.
Funeral services for Jake and his mother, Ericka will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Pastor Tony Kimbril and Brother Larry Sosh will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m. and Thursday 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Tell City Junior –Senior High School Athletic Department.

Hey Jake. It's been almost 3 years since you've left this world. As a cousin, I have never seen so much compassion and determination from a boy like you and me. Those 12 years were
some of the best of my life and I know that Bo and Nolan would say the same.It is hard to express the pain in my heart that you are now gone but I know I will see you someday in heaven celebrating and having fun.
