Henry (Hank) Lionel Howe
July 13, 1927 - January 15, 2024
Hank passed away peacefully at home after complications from COVID. He was born in Petaluma, CA on July 13th, 1927, to William and Louise Howe. He was 7th generation Native Californian. He joined the Navy right after high school. After the Navy he raised a family in Southern California. He loved his hometown of Petaluma. He also made Catalina Island his home away from home and became friends with many of the families on the island. He moved back to Northern California with his wife Nance after his retirement from the Southern California Gas Company. Hank made friends wherever he went. He valued every friend he ever made.
Hank was an avid reader and a storyteller. He colored our days with his adventures through life. His nickname was Hurricane Hank. Our mornings were filled with fun stories over a crispy English muffin with lots of butter and honey and a warm half cup of coffee. He loved life and all of us. His dog companions brought so much joy to his heart and so did his wife Nance. We will forever cherish our times together. His favorite fruit was watermelon, but he also loved white peaches and Cara-Cara oranges. He had a passion for pies. Jeopardy was a regular show for us after dinner and one evening there was a pie category. He got all the answers right, he ran the category! His favorite pie was his daughter's famous "Apple La Pie". He will be missed for eternity.
Hank Howe was preceded by his son, Timothy Howe. He is survived by his wife Nance and her family Keely, Damien and Zion, his son Danny Howe and daughter-in-law Marisa, his daughter Carrie Meyers and son-in-law Gary, his grandson Cody Meyers and great-grandson Noah.
