Lt.Colonel Walter V. McIntyre

Lt. Colonel Walter V. McIntyre, of Phoenixville Lt. Colonel Walter V. McIntyre, (USAF Retired), husband of the late Joan P. (Mathews) McIntyre, of Phoenixville, died on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at home. Born in Hartford, CT, he was the son of the late Walter and Anna (Shay) McIntyre. Lt. Colonel McIntyre retired after 26 years of service in the United States Air Force, he then embarked on a second career as a medical contracting specialist for several Philadelphia area hospitals. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Phoenixville, Knights of Columbus, and several veterans organizations. Surviving are 8 children, Christine McIntyre of Columbus, OH, Diane McIntyre of Harrisonburg, VA, Maura McIntyre of Phoenixville, Ellen, wife of Jack Kochu, of Pottstown, Sheila McIntyre, wife of Martin Prescod, of Pottstown, Brigid, wife of Nicholas Foresta, of Phoenixville, Lt Col Andrew McIntyre, husband of Jill Thomas McIntyre, of Tucson, AZ, Kathleen McIntyre of Phoenixville; 10 grandchildren, Gabriela Trigo-McIntyre, Benjamin Coble, Jessica, George and Paul Kochu, Danielle Lenhart, Nathan Yurick, Jeffrey and Jordan McIntyre, Liam McIntyre; brother and sister, Francis McLaughlin of New York and Barbara Malafronte of New York. He was preceded in death by a brother, William McLaughlin and sister, Joan Schmidt. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Devlin-Rosmos-Kepp Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 517 S. Main Street at Fourth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA on Monday, October 18, 2010 at 10:15 a.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 146 Church Street, Phoenixville, PA at 11 a.m. with Rev. Michael W. Rzonca officiating. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Phoenixville. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Monday morning from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 5300 Chester Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19143-4993.
