EASLEY — Michael E. King, 68, husband of Frances Taylor King, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017.
Born in Greenville County, he was the son of the late James C. King Jr. and Nora Faye Looper King.
Mike was a graduate of Easley High School and a 1971 graduate of Clemson University with a degree in Horticulture. He was formerly employed at Wade Hampton Nursery, Supervisor of grounds at St. Francis Hospital, Thornblade Country Club, Southern Wesleyan University and was retired from AnMed Health Medical Center.
He was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church where he was a former choir member and Sunday school teacher of the Home Makers Class and Sonshine Men's Class.
A special thanks to Dr. Ed Lominick for guidance and friendship over the last 30 years. To Dr. Lawrence Weston, who could help prepare you for the journey. To the staff at MUSC, Dr. Adrian Van Bakel, LVAD team and Lab, thanks for five wonderful years of dreams that Mike thought he would never get to witness. And, to our family, friends and church family at Rock Springs Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are two sons, Jason King (Erica) of Easley and Josh King of Montrose, Minn.; two precious granddaughters, Maddie King and Kennedy King; and a sister, Carol King of Greenville.
A service to celebrate Mike's life was held on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 4 p.m. at Rock Springs Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Tuesday, from 3 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. at the church.
Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to Rock Springs Baptist Church, 201 Rock Springs Road, Easley, SC 29642.
The family will be at the home of Jason and Erica King, 213 Latham Road, Easley, SC 29640
