Matteo - you where our family friend from a previous life - I remember you from my childhood - watching you and Dad making the grappa down in our basement in glenbrook. You were the friend I most looked forward to coming over and visiting - I remember as a young man running into you at the hot springs at Radium. Your voice always brought a smile to my face. On behalf of the Bott family - our sincere condolences to your family and friends. You are in heaven with your buddies sipping grappa, hunting and doing the things that made you,you

A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
The years may wipe out many things,
But this they'll wipe out never,
The memory of those happy days
Which we have spent together,
For all you did for us,
You did your very best,
May God grant eternal rest.

Always...
less an uncle and more a friend. When times were high or when times were low, a large but gentle hand and a direct look of assurance was everything.
Roy and I dropped in on Matt when in our teens and they were still in Westgate. Several wee drams of Matt's recipe and we left with trending afros and a means for stripping rust and paint from our motorcycle.
Memory is a wonderful and strange thing, but memories of Matt will always be wrapped in a warm glow with fuzzy edges.
Goodbye uncle and goodbye friend...we shall see you in the bye and bye.

I am so sorry to hear of your Dads passing away. My memories of him are of when I was young.. and he was always very kind to my family as well as his other "In-Law" families. I am sorry that other commitments prevent me from attending his funeral, but I will be there in thought. Take Care
