Like many of the contributors to this book, I met Adam at JMU through Sigma Chi. He made a lasting, positive impact on my life. I'm deeply saddened by his passing, but grateful that I had the chance to know him. I'm also comforted that his exceptional qualities will live on in his children.

Jill - I am so sorry for your family's loss. As a friend of Adam's from JMU, I have spent the last few days trying to comprehend the sadness you and your family are going through. I wish I had some words which could provide comfort for you. I knew Adam as a gentle giant who led by example. I recall how his imposing stature would command attention but then his iconic smile would put everyone at ease.

I hope your family provides ease and comfort during this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Jill,

While we go not know each other, I feel I know you and your family in my heart as Adam was not only a fellow JMU graduate but also a Sigma Chi brother.

I knew Adam to be a big man with an even bigger heart who would go to any/all lengths to make sure his friends were cared for and protected. There are a number of us from his fraternity chapter that would truly appreciate the opportunity to do something for you/your family during the upcoming holidays.

I can be reached at [email protected] or 804/254-2773 (living in Richmond with my wife and three boys).

I truly hope the Lord is looking after your family and you find the time to mend hearts through grace and love. I'm truly sorry for your loss and your family will be in my family's prayers.

Dear Jill, May the peace of God be with you and your family during this time of your loss of your husband Adam. Adam was great to work with over the past few years at the IBC office complex. He was always accommodating and went above and beyond...one night when the back of my office unit flooded from the rain, Adam personally came over with a wet vac to clean up the water. Talk about dedication. He was just such a good, caring, and professional man. You have my heartfelt sympathy and my prayers are for you, your children and his entire family.

To the family you all are old and dear friends of ours from when we lived in Fairfax and attended church together. I heard through a mutual friend about Adam's death. I can't say how shocked I am and how sorry I am for your loss. I will always remember Adam as an upbeat, friendly and sweet kid. I am praying for you all and thinking of you with much love and God's grace.
