Alice Picot
Richmond - Picot, Alice Newsome "Aboo", of Richmond formerly of Franklin, Va., born April 28, 1915, went home to be with her lord and her husband of 69 years, Guy C. Picot, and a host of relatives, on April 17, 2012. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret "Becky" Picot Otey; grandson, Melvin Rosson Otey III and his wife Julie; two great-grandchildren, Virginia and Nathaniel Otey; and many nieces and nephews. Alice managed along with her husband, The Franklin District Office of Citizens Home Insurance Company. She was a talented artist as well as an avid gardener. The family will receive friends at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave, Richmond, VA 23231 on Friday, April 20, from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 21, at Fort Lee Baptist Church, 2727 Charles City Rd, Richmond, VA 23231, followed by a graveside service, 3:30 p.m. at Buckhorn Baptist Church Cemetery, 1022 Statesville Rd Como, NC 27818. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Fort Lee Baptist Church or Franklin Baptist Church.
