Audrey Gardner Obituary

Audrey A. Gardner NORFOLK - Audrey Alexander Gardner, 80, went to be with the Lord Jan. 24, 2009. She was born to the late Joseph A. and Cora L. Alexander in Columbia, N.C. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James D. Alexander. She is survived by her six children, JoAnn A. Goodwin, J.D. Alexander, both of Norfolk, Lisa Gee of Edenton, N.C., Joseph Alexander of Norfolk, John Alexander of Seal Beach, Calif., Daniel W. Alexander and wife Nancy of Virginia Beach; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her second husband, James T. Gardner Sr. of Norfolk and stepdaughter, Linda Hobbs of Norfolk. Audrey was a loving mother and devoted wife. She will be sadly missed by family and friends. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Miles Memorial United Methodist Church, 9450 Granby St., Norfolk. A reception will follow the in the church social hall.
