Charles Edgerton Obituary

Born in the land of fruits and nuts, as he used to say, Charles Walter Edgerton was welcomed into the world in San Diego CA on May 12, 1960. He spent his childhood in Roda Spain. He rode his first bull at the age of 10 and was extremely proud of his sister, Angela, for becoming an all around barrel racing champion while living there. He returned to the states and spent some time in Connecticut before landing in Canfield, Ohio. He was a wild and rambunctious teen with a love of cars, speed, laughs and great times. Upon high school graduation, Chuck joined the United States Navy where his aptitude started him in electronics. He made rank at lightning speed finishing up his Navy career in EOD, explosive ordnance disposal. His stories from his Navy life were colorful and larger than life. The ones from Turmalina Spain and Marseille France were unbelievable. He was a true patriot. Upon leaving the Navy, Chuck moved on to the banking industry as a manager of a team that handled the maintenance and repair of ATM's all up and down the East Coast of Virginia. He merged this career into full time Info Tech obtaining many certifications to advance his IT career. A jack of all trades and able to fix and troubleshoot many things, he followed that passion into a home renovation career. His Virginia Beach roots ran deep. He was an original member of the Page Avenue Desparados. He never met a stranger and made many friends in his 32 years as a Tidewater resident. He had a genuine heart that loved to save animals, turtles, squirrels, racoons…just to name a few. He would help anyone in need and spent many hours operating chain saws and removing debris after several hurricanes. An avid Rottie lover, he cared for quite a few: Rambo, Ndoki, Aragon, Ndoji..and his smallest one, Poncho. Summertime was his favorite as he loved sun, fun, boating, picking crabs with friends, and oh how did his St. Augustine grass grow. It was also Harley time….He came to life on the Fat King. The house in the OBX gave him much joy as it gave him time to exhale. He never got tired of the sunsets, horses, dolphins, pelicans, and pipers. He was the only man seen shucking oysters in a tux and prepared crabs and tomahawk steaks in a most unusual way. He had fierce blue eyes, handsome guy and wow, that wink and wiggle. Known as Luckie Chuckie, C. Walter, Charlie, Big Daddy, Chuck-Doug, but mostly Chuck, he will be sorely missed. He is survived by many loving family and friends, some old some new some lost, but not forgotten. Rest in Peace C. Walter. Know that you were loved and I miss "us"…..just because, with all of my heart and soul. Last but not least, do something with your dash…you only get one. May 12, 1960-March 6, 2022.
