Chesapeake, VA -- Claire Robinson Askew was called home by her LORD and Savior JESUS CHRIST Friday, September 10, 2021. To accommodate the anticipated number of visitors and guests and remain compliant with the Commonwealth of Virginia's COVID-19 assembly restrictions, a public viewing is set for 2- 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, at the Portsmouth Chapel of the Metropolitan Funeral Service located at 5605 Portsmouth Blvd., Portsmouth, VA 23701. An additional public viewing will be held 10-11:50 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, at The Signet Center located at 884 Bells Mill Road, Chesapeake, VA 23322. The homegoing celebration will immediately follow at noon at the Signet Center. Bishop K.W. Brown will officiate the service which has a 200-seat limitation but will be live streamed online from www.themountleads.org. A final graveside service followed by interment will be held in Claire's hometown at noon Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021, at Greenlawn Memorial Park located at 595 Old Liberty Road--A, Easley, SC 29640.
