Growing up with my dad was like having the best part of the Cosby show brought to life. My dad was always working on stuff in our house and loved to fix things. The only problem is that he didn't really know how to fix things. I'll never forget that my mom mentioned redoing the driveway and she thought since that was wayyy out of his element that there was no way he could attempt to do it. Boy was she wrong. My dad had a friend who had access to a concrete truck come to the house. I was a teenager and home alone so I watched and witnessed this crime alone. This friend of my dad, poured the concrete at the end of the driveway and drove away. I didnt know about construction but I was sure this wasn't right. I watched helplessly as the concrete dried and patiently waited for my mom to come home. Needless to say, she was not happy. My dad thought his friend did a great job LOL. It only cost $3K to fix this mistake and repave the driveway. Love and truly miss the character that my dad was. Love you pops!

Anyone that knows me knows how big a fan of wrestling I am and have been since I was very young. When I became a professional wrestler myself my dad was right there in the stands among other family members rooting me on. Before I had money to purchase tickets or drive I turned to my dad to take to wrestling events. The very first one being in 1988 fast forward a decade later the year is 1998 and the two major North American wrestling companies the World Wrestling Federation and World Championship Wrestling are both in Hampton Roads with their respective events Monday Night Raw and Monday Nitro taking place in the Hampton Coliseum and the Norfolk Scope respectively. My dad and I headed over to the scope to see if we would be able to grab some tickets. As we are walking across the street there´s a bunch of commotion going on and there appears to be a tank coming up the street with World Wrestling Federation superstars D-Generation X (Triple H, Chyna, X-PAC, Road Dogg, and Billy Gunn) were riding on it! A moment that has been replayed countless times on YouTube and is widely considered a highlight of the Monday Night War before it was a moment it was just my dad and I going to a wrestling event. On a side note I competed in a wrestling match against Billy Gunn years later however the results of that match have somehow slipped my mind. Nevertheless all that I am and all that I ever will be wouldn´t be possible without my dad. Long Live Curtis Carnell Devin Sr. Thank you daddy, I love you Rest in heaven.

One summer my family went to Kings Dominion my dad and I got on I think a roller coaster but I think it was like a water roller coaster it might´ve been anaconda I´m not 100% sure but I know he had bought us these hats that read "I survived in the anaconda" so it might not have been the anaconda, but we bought some hats and we´re on this ride and it´s like there´s I guess a slope or a little drop nothing really major nothing really crazy but I know it was like some water was involved so it might´ve been like you´re coming down and there´s a little splash at the end I know for sure it wasn´t escape from Pompeii because it wasn´t Busch Gardens but something like that. We had our hats on and we get on this ride. So as we come down the slope towards the water part his hat, flies off is head so basically he just paid that money for that hat and now it´s gone so as we exit the ride what comes floating over but the hat that had just flown off his head. Can´t make this stuff up. He simply reached over the rail picked it up and laughed while placing it back on his head.

Curtis Devin was my dad, he taught me how to bowl and how to ride a bike. I never did quite get as consistent as he was at bowling he always seemed to beat me but every once in a while I got the best of him.
