My mind is flooded with precious memories of you all, but especially of Darryl and Layron (June), working together on cars in the shop. Darrly's smile would light up a room. Please know that we are praying for your strength to get through this difficult time.

Darryl was quite a guy. His unique and intelligent sense of humor made me think as well as laugh. He educated me on cars as well as life. After I moved from Virginia I would often visit VA. and I made sure I went by his shop to visit. His legacy will go on. What a smart and talented family the Johnsons are. May God Bless them all...Eric Pickett (Covington, GA)

I offer heartfelt condolence and sympathy to the family. What a privilege to have shared a part of the life of this fine man. Over two decades ago our paths crossed and the relationship grew into one of mutual love and respect. I always admired Darryl’s endless energy and creativity, which also motivated those around him. His compassion and empathy for those in need of a helping hand or another chance (even when others had given up) reached deeper than most were able to see. Sheree you have certainly been as supportive and caring as any could ask for. We extend our prayers of comfort and peace for you and all the family.

It has sadden my heart to hear that we have lost a good man, we worked together many times in the same courtroom, even transported inmates to other jails. Darryl was a very intelligent man , he always knew how to up lift your spirit, make you smile when you were down, he would give any one good advice.
God Bless,
Jacqueline D. Hart

Darryl was loyal, compassionate, and supportive to his family, co-workers, and friends. Although I briefly worked with him in 1991, it is over the last year I witnessed Darryl offer acts of sheer selflessness to those in need. Darryl will be missed, but the strength, courage, and hope he gave others, will live on.

Wow, not sure how to say how much of an impact Darryl made on my life, he taught me in basic jailor school in 1999 and then Law Enforcement school in 2001,he was my Sgt.and my very good friend for over 10 years. He worked on my cars and he gave me much needed advice and I always knew if I needed him he would be there. He was always the first one there when I had an assistance call and I knew he was one I could count on. The world lost a Good man on Dec.24 2009.My heart goes out to his family and to all the people who loved and cared for him as I did. Walk with the Lord Darryl.RIP
