David Rajnes EDENTON - David Rajnes, 37, of the 100 block of Sycamore Circle, died July 6, 2008, in his home. Mr. Rajnes was the son of Viola Rajnes and the late Stephen Rajnes. He is also survived by his wife, Tracy Phillips Berk; two daughters, Ashley Ann Watson and Carol Virginia Rajnes; two stepsons, Evan Chesson Berk and Patrick Marco Phillips; three sisters, Debbie Raley, Donna Raley and Denise Ballard and her husband Paul; one brother, Carl Mecke and his wife Patricia of South Carolina. Friends may sign the online register by visiting www.evansfuneralsandcremations.com. A celebration of Mr. Rajnes' life will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Open Door Baptist Church with the Rev. Ricky Bishop officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Interment will be held in New York at a later date. Memorials may be made to Cancer Patient Support Service, Morris Cancer Clinic, Morris Building, 200 Trent Drive, Durham, NC 27710. Evans Funerals and Cremations of Edenton is serving the Rajnes family.

I AM SO SORRY TO HEAR OF DAVID'S PASSING, ITS BEEN ALONG TIME SINCE I HAD TALKED TO HIM, BUT I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER DAVID AS A CARING PERSON WHO WOULD GIVE YOU THE SHIRT OFF HIS BACK, HE ALWAYS HAD A SMILE TO GIVE YOU WHEN YOU WERE FEELING DOWN, AND STORIES ABOUT HIS SISTERS GIVING HIM TOILET BATHS! I can remember so many childhood memories not one without my brother David Wright and Dave Rajnes being together. I will always remember him as being apart of our family. My deepest sympathy goes out to Dave's family and my brother who lost his best friend.

To the family,
Years ago I met and got to know David through Dave Wright. I spent many hours with him at Donna Wright's house. I'm so sorry for your loss. He was a wonderful person and happy and full of life. Look back at those times and remember him then. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
