Deborah Porter Obituary

Hickory, NC

Deborah "Debbie" Mae Turnbill Porter, 68, of Hickory, passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021 at Novant - Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Born September 15, 1952 in Baltimore, MD., she was the daughter of the late Sam Turnbill and Ruth Lawing Turnbill.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Paul Wayne Porter who passed away in March, 2021; and brothers, Jimmie Walker and Ruel Walker.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Jeffrey Mark Porter and wife Melinda of Huntersville NC; daughter, Tia Porter Richards and husband Mark of Suffolk, VA; sisters, Patricia Turner and Sandra St. Denis, both of Marion, NC; granddaughters, Ashlee Jordan Heath, Alicia Chandler Porter, and Alyssa Jenna Heath as well as many other extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, August 20, 2021 in the Chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Hickory with Pastor John Moore officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service.
