Chesapeake - Doris W. Epps, 92 was quietly and gently called into eternal rest early Sunday morning, May 11th. Affectionately known to family, friends and associates as "Aunt Doris." Doris was born in Norfolk, VA on Dec. 12, 1921 to the late George W. J. Wyatt, Sr. and the late Lottie B. Dozier (Wyatt). Doris retired from NORSHIPCO after 20 years of faithful and dedicated service, as a material controller in the tool room, where she also touched the lives of many in a spiritual way.

Doris, being raised in a christian home and deeply loved by her family, excepted christ at an early age and joined St. John's A.M.E. Church, Norfolk. She received her early education in the public schools of norfolk and later graduated from Booker T. Washington High School.

She was preceded in death by her late husband William H. Epps, Jr., four brothers Richard, Thomas, Clarence and George, Jr. Survivors includes two sisters, Mamie W. Williams of Norfolk, Lottie W. Medley (Alexander) of Washington, DC, and a faithful and devoted niece Shelley Lewis of Chesapeake. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends. The family will receive friends at Graves Funeral Home, 1631 Church St., on Thur. May 15th from 4-6 p.m. A homegoing service will be conducted at noon on Friday at St. John's A.M.E. Church, 545 E. Bute St. Interment will follow in calvary cementary. Family will assemble 11:00 a.m. Friday at Graves Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. John's A.M.E.
