Edward Sarpy Obituary

BYRON, GA - Edward Thomas Sarpy, Jr., 83, entered into rest on the morning of Thursday, April 14, 2022, at his residence.

The son of the late Edward Thomas Sarpy, Sr. and Agnes Pearl Tillage Sarpy, Ed was born on June 2, 1938, in Norfolk, Virginia. After graduating from Norfolk Catholic High School, Ed proudly served his country in the United States Air Force with the rank of A1C. Following his time in the military, Ed went on to work for the Norfolk Fire Department, New Orleans' Fire Department, as well as the Del Trail Fire Department. He was a lifelong LSU fan. "GEAUX TIGERS!!!"

His wife of 63 years, Martha Power Sarpy; children, Edward C. Sarpy of Boca Raton, Florida; Robert C. Sarpy of Kathleen; Katrina M. Sarpy of Byron; and Brian C. Sarpy (Rebecca) of Loganville; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Jean Monhollen of Burlington, Kentucky, are left to cherish his memory.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Ed will be inurned at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville with Military Honors.
