Emily Walter Obituary

Emily Grace Walter NORFOLK - Emily Grace Walter, 15, departed this life Feb. 22, 2011 while waiting for a lung transplant at the University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill Children's Hospital. Emily battled cystic fibrosis all of her life with bravery, cheerfulness and a kind, caring and love filled heart. A memorial celebration for Emily will be held March 5 at 3 p.m. at Saint Paul's Episcopal Church, 201 St. Paul's Blvd., Norfolk. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Emily Walter Memorial Trust at any Wachovia Bank, or a contribution in Emily's name to CHKD or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Emily was a great fighter as well as friend. I miss her so much, her kind words as well as her laugh. She had such a soft spirit. I will miss and think of you everyday.......I know you are in a pain free place, just wish you could have been pain free here. I am praying for you Mary always!!
