Eric O'Neil Obituary
Chesapeake - Eric Joseph O'Neil, 36, of Prindle Court, passed away peacefully Friday, May 12, 2017 at Sentara Heart Hospital. He was a native of Franklin, PA and was the son of Floyd J. and Suzanne Romanchak O'Neil of Franklin, PA.
Eric was a retired teacher for Hampton City Schools, a member of the Church of Saint Therese, a volunteer for Sentara Heart Hospital and Churchland Elementary School.
He is also survived by a daughter, Ivy Josephine O'Neil of Chesapeake, his fiancée Elizabeth Bower of Chesapeake, two brothers, Scott A. O'Neil and wife Ashley of Bellwood, PA and Brett A. O'Neil and wife Rachel of West Bend, Wisconsin; a maternal grandmother, Barbara S. Romanchak of Franklin, PA.
The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel Monday, May 15, from 6:30 -8 P.M. with a prayer service at 7 P.M. A funeral mass and burial will follow in Franklin, PA. Eric was a kind and generous person to so many. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Church of Saint Therese or to Sentara Foundation for Advanced Heart Failure.

I'm so very sorry about your loss. Eric was a very special man. He and I would share and have such great talks he'd often ask me about advice on life and things he was dealing with. He had a great love for Ivy and Liz brought such a smile to his face when mention. He was a great big help to me as my Friday Volunteer which he looked so forward to doing.
