Eugene W. Hancock

Virginia Beach - Eugene William Hancock, 84, passed away on July 15, 2014. The son of the late Henry Grady Hancock and Lucille Patow Hancock, he was born in Grand Rapids, MI, grew up in Muskegeon, MI, and was a member of the Lutheran Church. He served in the U.S. Navy 22 years during the Korean and Vietnam wars.

Left to cherish his memory is loving wife of 65 years, Maxine Ruth Hancock; daughter Pamela Newenstyn and her husband John; son Bill Hancock and his wife Beth; granddaughters Heather Richards, Becky Hancock, and Melissa Freeman; great grandchildren Gretchen, Caitlyn, Savannah, Daniel, Alex, and Kate.

A graveside service will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery. The family has entrusted Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel with services. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Ocean Park Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 5545, Virginia Beach, VA 23471. Condolences may be expressed to family at www.hollomon-brown.com
