Evelyn Edler Obituary
Norfolk - Evelyn Edler received her angel wings on January 10, 2014. Evelyn was born on February 17, 1933 in Chesapeake, VA to the late Leon and Ruby Lee Watson. She married the late Ernest Edler, Sr. They were blessed with five children, Joan Brown (Robert), Ernest Edler, Jr. (Eula), Jeanette, Eason (Roy), Ruby Russ and Darryl Edler (Donna – deceased). The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, January 14, at Metropolitan Funeral Home, 7246 Granby St, Norfolk, VA 23505. Services will be held 11 a.m.., Wednesday, January 15, at Mt Gilead Missionary Baptist Church.

To the Edler family, my deepest condolences to you for the loss of an Amazing woman. When I was a lil girl living in the Chesapeake Manor neighborhood, Ms.Evelyn became my second (god mom) mother. She treated me no different than her own kids and I loved her dearly. As I became older and moved away, we lost contact. I came back to the area and would run into her. She would say out loud that I was her baby, like years and distance hadn't change anything. May she rest now. God only choose the best.
