Irving was my commanding officer D
19 5 in basic training. I still remember that experience as one of my best time there at Fort Jackson.

My deepest sympathy to your family. I knew your mom and dad before I moved to Texas. Your mom and I taught together at Salem. We car pooled together. It was a joy listening to Sue. I met Irv several times at their home. They were so proud of their boys. When Sue discovered that my parents retired in Signal Mt., she told me that she and Irv had lived there in the early stages of their marriage. She jokingly said that Irv´s dream of heaven was to retire as a housewife on the mountain. They were a remarkable couple, who truly loved each other. I am blessed to have known them. Nancy

I was so sorry to hear of Mr. Well's passing. I worked with him in the Norfolk Office & he was very professional and kind hearted. He loved his family and was so proud to discuss them and their accomplishments. He will truly be missed. With deepest sympathy,

We have been neighbors for many years of the Wells Family. They lived on one end of the cul-de-sac and we lived on the other end. At Halloween, I would bring my children down in their costumes and both Irv and Sue always were excited to see them. When Sue passed a few years ago it was such a sad day. She was the most beautiful person we have ever met. We felt the same way about Irv, and I know his life has not been the same since she has been gone. Sue and Irv were not only good to our kids, but to our dog Reese as well. When Reese would get out, Sue would offer him cheese on her front porch to lure him back home . Irv brought Reese home many times when he would "escape" with a smile on his face. He was such a lover of animals, and I believe his volunteer work with the SPCA helped fill the void after Sue was gone. He brought Reese home so many times, we bought him a gift certificate to "BoneFish Grill" where he liked to dine. The last time I saw Irv he gave me a big hug. Sue and Irv will not be forgotten. He had an important job being an FBI agent, but I know God has a more important job for him now. I believe he has been reunited with his sweetheart so this will be comforting to think about when we don't see him in the neighborhood, or out in his yard, or bringing our dog home. We will always regard their home as the "Wells home."

I had the distinct pleasure of meeting and working with Irv when we were teamed together to provide technical assistance to the Republic of Armenia during the late 1990s and early 2000s. I could not have been more fortunate then to travel the world with Irv, to meet his dear wife Sue, learn about his family, and learn about his impressive career with the FBI. We shared many laughs together, told each other many war stories, and more than a few meals on "barbeque street" in Yerevan. What a guy - he will be missed.

A fine Southern gentleman. I had the pleasure of knowing him throughout my career. I was one of his Inspectors aides and he tied a helium filled ballon to a brick which was placed on an inspection write-up. When I inquired about this he stated "it he said it was too light and was afraid it would float away". At first , I was taken back but quickly realized that this was a demonstration of his great sense of humor. I had the pleasure of reviewing his book on Amazon giving it five stars. He was close friends with another good friend of mine, namely Bob Dean, who has passed on over ten years ago. It seems that too many of my friends are passing on at a greater rate. I look forward, if I am worthy enough, to meeting with many, including Irv, in Heaven. Requiescat In Pace dear friend.

We both worked with Irv in the Norfolk Field Office during his tenure as SAC. He was always smiling and working for him was a pleasure. Sue was a delight and you could certainly see that "she was the light of his life". Prayers and thoughts are with your family.
