J. Lowder Obituary
Virginia Beach - Jarvis C. Lowder, 80, of Virginia Beach, Virginia passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 9, 2018 in Richmond, Virginia.
Born in Albemarle, NC on July 27th 1937, JC was the son of Henry and Lillie Lowder. After finishing school he met his beloved wife Nancy Rodriguez Lowder and began his career with Roses Department Store. He devoted over 35 years of service to Roses before he retired as District Manager in Florence, SC.
After retiring, JC and Nancy moved to Virginia Beach to be near family. During his retirement, JC did what he loved best which was helping others with landscaping, gardening, and taking care of family. He spent most of the last six years at Calvary Campground in Ashland, Virginia with his sister, Pastor Jane Lowder, where he embraced his church family. He received so much love and appreciation.
JC will be greatly missed by his daughter, Sharon Lee of Wilmington, NC and his grandsons Brett and Bryan Lee of Los Angeles, California. He is also survived and will also be missed by his brothers and sisters, Pastor Jane Lowder, Louise Dunford, James, Jerry, and David Lowder, all originally from Albemarle, NC. He was predeceased by his loving wife of over 50 year, Nancy Lowder; his daughter, Karen Lowder; son, Todd Lowder; and brother, William Lowder.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake. Reverend Glenn Garland will officiate. Fellowship will follow the service at the funeral home. The interment will be private in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle, 11352 Heflin Lane, Ashland, VA 23005 for missionary travel.

What a great guy JC was! I didn't get to spend as much time as I wanted to with him, but had a lot of respect and admiration for him. He is a great loss for us who knew him here on earth, but I know heaven is rejoicing to receive such a wonderful saint into the everlasting presence of the heavenly fellowship and the presence of Christ.

J C was a man of many talents. He always used his time wisely. Contributing to the beautiful landscaping at Calvary Pentecostal Campground, that caught your eyes when arriving for a weekend or week visit. As he progressed in years, he never once stopped encouraging others to go the extra mile. Making restoration to a lot of the buildings at CPT while He was there. He is an example of what we all can do when you never give up and always work hard.
May our Lord Jesus Christ bless his family and all those who knew J C Lowder...
