James Latimer Obituary

James W. Latimer NORFOLK - James Wise Latimer, 88, passed away after a long illness, Dec. 11, 2010, at Sentara Nursing Home, Norfolk. Wise was a combat veteran of World War II. He retired from Valley Poultry and Produce Company. He is survived by his sister, Katherine L. Beck of Chester, Va.; three children, Dana L. VanDyke and husband Danhof of Eastville, James Burleigh Latimer II and wife Joanne of Kiptopeke, and Larry Thomas Latimer and wife Sherry of Norfolk; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at the Capeville Masonic Cemetery today, Dec. 15, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Elizabeth Lutz officiating. A reception will follow the service in the Capeville United Methodist Church Social Hall. Wilkins- Doughty Funeral Home, Cape Charles, is in charge. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Southeastern Virginia Association, 6350 Center Drive, Suite 102, Norfolk, VA 23502, or Capeville United Methodist Church, c/o H.H. Scott Jr. 4301 Townsend Drive, Cape Charles, VA 23310. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.doughtyfuneralhome. com.

Jim, I'm very sorry to hear that you have lost your Dad. It certainly sounds like he had a very full, wonderful life. I hope you and your family are all doing well. You are in my prayers.

Sorry to hear about Wise, im glad i got to see him several times at Sentara Village last year while my mother was there. My thoughts are with the family.
