Jeff was a friend and colleague of mine for many years. I appreciated his candid advice and support when we worked together to advance the practice of medicine serving on the Board of the Virginia Society of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He also did my first Aviation Medical Examination for my Private Pilot Certificate. My deepest sympathy and condolences to his family, fellow workers, and friends.

Jeff has been my friend for over 30-years and he has taken care of my daughters and me as patients. I have very fond memories with Jeff and he will be sorely missed. May God bless Terrie and her family during this difficult time and may they find peace that he is no longer suffering. RIP dear friend...

My sincere sympathies to Jeff's family & coworkers on his passing. Jeff was strongly passionate about everything in his life: medicine, business, his beautiful "girls".

He was my doctor for almost 30 years. He was also my friend, a doctor who truly cared about his patients. I will miss our talks. God bless you Doctor Powell and your family.

What do you say about the kindest, wonderful and dedicated Doctor that I have ever known. I could fill up the page on why I feel that way but just so you know I was patient #846. If your number is higher then mine then you have some idea on how many years that he was my Dr. and friend. He was a special and unique person. The only Doctor that I have ever had who I had all of the numbers to each him when I needed the Doc!!!!
You will be missed and Teddybear know that you were loved by many!!!!

I was a Patient and friend of Dr. Powells from 1984 until he retired. He was one of the best. He never was in to big of rush. He listened to you and acted accordingly. I told him that he was my Teddybear cause that was what he always reminded my of. The only Dr that I have ever had that I had all of his phone numbers, pagers and he never minded when I would call him at 6am in the morning. He always found time to see me and to take care of me. You see I lived 2 hours away in North Carolina and with only one ear that could hear and that with a hearing aid I was quick to notice when something was not right. My job with Dominion Energy for 31 years was all about hearing as I was on the phone 75% of my day. Many thanks Terry for the mornings that I would wake you and you never once seemed to be upset....Thank you Dr. Powell for making my handicap a whole lot easier to accept and manage. Thank you for being a great doctor and friend!!!! RIP and know that you were loved and respected by many!!!!!!

Sending prayers to the family. Dr. Powell was my ENT and always was kind when I saw him. He also did my ear tube surgery back in 2011. He will be missed.
