Jimmy Gainer Obituary

Jimmy B. Gainer PORTSMOUTH - Jimmy Barry Gainer, 61, of Chatham Road, died Monday, Aug. 17, 2009, in a Portsmouth hospital. A native of Portsmouth, he worked with Ryder Trucking for 23 years. Survivors include his wife, Doris Marie Gainer; three daughters, Tammy Butler, Angie Chavis and husband Danny, and Spring Poletsky and husband Alec; two sons, Alan Gainer and wife Angie and Chris Gainer; three sisters; and eight grandchildren, Joshua, Anthony, Hunter, Carson, Jessica, Austin, Vincent and Sophie. A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Tom Potter. Burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.
