I knew John in school, and ironically ran into him in San Diego at Basic Electricity and Electronics School, when I was turning in my bed linen. The sailor at the desk said; "Glauner, you ready?" and as he was behind me in line, I turned around and said; "John Glauner???" and it was amazing what a small world it is. I was on my way to Treasure Island to my 'A' School (EW) and I think John said he was doing something other than Electronics. I am so very sad he has passed away. I thought him to be a genuine stand up dude, thru and thru. i'm sure all who knew him found him to be a very genuine and warm person whom you knew instantly you could trust. I'm sad I never got to take him flying, I later owned my own aircraft and ultimately became a B-727 Second Officer at EAL just before they folded up. I'm sure he would have enjoyed it. I'm so sorry to find this out now for the first time. Rest in Peace, John. We'll meet again someday..and I'll tell you about EAL and my B-727 fun.

We of the NARTU Association offer John's family and friends our deepest sympathies.
He was a firm supporter of the association, and will be missed.

I'm so sorry for the loss of a special military man that I never got to meet personally but was that a dear friend of my sister-in-law's to her sister Ida. Thank you for your service to our country. I heard that you were a very good man and very honorable. And my heart goes out to your family. You are with the Angels now and we will all meet up with you later. Thank you for your honor and your friendship.

RIP my friend! Godspeed John Glauner! I am sorry for loss. I worked with John at Nadep and moved to Florida due to the BRAC in 1995. I used to work on he vehicles and pretty much overhauled his RV at his house. I have missed John and wondered how he was. Every Christmas he would bring his RV to work and open bar and all kinds of food. There are a few of us here in Jacksonville that worked with John and we talk often about him. I am glad he lived this long and hope he was in no pain and still had his wits. Bye my friend! See you on the other side!
