John Stephan Obituary


John Edward Stephan VIRGINIA BEACH - John Stephan passed away Aug. 18, 2008. For many years he served as deacon, treasurer, choir director and adult Sunday school teacher at Princess Anne Independent Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Audrey; two sons, Tom and Garry Stephan; his sister, Doris Jordan and brother-in-law Fred Jordan; his brother, Paul Stephan and his wife Mary Jane; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and his sister-in-law, Fran Stephan; and many nieces and nephews. He served 20 years in the U.S. Navy and retired as a chief petty officer and 25 years in Naval Training Device Center in Norfolk. A funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, with the Rev. M. Lee Godfrey officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.

My deepest sympathy to all of you in your time of loss. "Steve" was a dear friend to my late father Bill McAnsh and was a support to us at his passing. What a truly kind and compassionate man, who is fondley remembered and sure to be greeted at heavens gates.
