I happened upon this obituary as I was looking for another. Such wonderful memories I have of Ms.Rush at Maury High. She was a trail blazer and someone I will always remember. Cornelia Atwood Leitch, class of '58.

What an amazing aunt was my Aunt Julia. She blazed her trails with adventure and gusto. And she shared those experiences with a twinkle in her eye. Her heart was bigger than most so she gave much to those she cared, family and friends. I'm so thankful I knew and loved her.

Ms. Rush was my physical education teacher at Maury High School. I was in the class of 1962 and she was one of my favorite teachers. Very strict, but good. May her family find peace and comfort. I am sure she will be missed.

Julia and John were my best friends and playmates growing up in Alanton.
Julia, Dot Stephens, Buck Harris, Helen Lukens, and my mom Sudeen Deary and my self explored all over Alanton from the shore line to the woods. It was a magical time. It was like a giant classroom, learning every bird, tree names, wild flowers and small animals and ducks. The days it snowed Julia would be the first to arrive at our house to go sledding down McCullough Lane. John would stand at the bottom of the hill to make sure that we stayed on course. Julia and my mom were the pushers. We shared a lot of great memories that will always be in my heart. Julia will always be missed but not forgotten.
