Justin Gallup Obituary

Justin Glen Gallup, 43, passed away unexpectedly on July 31, 2021. Born on August 18, 1977 in Portsmouth, Virginia, to the late Linda Lee Gallup and Gregory Lee Gallup, he is survived by his fiance, Mary Claire Hildebrand, sister Amber Gallup, sister Brandi Gallup, and niece Victoria Gallup. Justin began playing baseball at Olive Branch Little League, continuing at Manor High School on JV and varsity teams. A life-long passion for culinary arts defined Justin's career path. An avid disc golf player and fisherman, he built lasting friendships on the Eastern Shore, in Portsmouth and in Greensboro. Justin was anticipating his wedding, and Mary Claire's extended family joins in mourning his passing. In lieu of flowers, the family invites remembrance in the form of donations to The V Foundation for Cancer Research, at www.v.org.

Nothing but tears brother! So many great memories to even list. Grew up with Gallup and spent my whole childhood growing up with him through ball and school and on the street. Justin was always one of my best friends growing up and one of the funniest dudes you would ever meet! I love ya bro and miss you, and would give anything for one more game of wiffle ball at the church parking lot And love bro, we´ll meet again my brother!

I am so sorry for your loss. I met Justin when I moved to Virginia around 2009-10 through a friend who was also a chef and avid disc golfer. I was graced with so many good meals from those fellas. Justin was the man. We played a lot of disc golf together all over and I had hope to get down to the "Mecca" as he called it.

I'll miss my friend.
