Kenneth Hamilton Obituary

Kenneth Michael Hamilton, 69, beloved father and grandfather, took his final breath on this earth on January 20, 2023. He is survived by his three children Joshua Hamilton (Amber), Adam Hamilton (Sarah Beth), and Brittney Hamilton; his six grandchildren Brycen, Ellison, Cole, Cristian, Wyatt, and Colton; and his three sisters Lorraine Templeton (Geoff), Pauline Springer, and Linda Goad (John). He was preceded in death by his parents Ian and Mavis Hamilton and his brother-in-law Steve Springer.

Ken was born in Evanston, Illinois but spent the majority of his years as a long-time resident of Virginia Beach, graduating from Cox High School and making his career as a businessman in the construction industry. Passionate about politics, the Cubs, and "Da Bears," he loved meaningful conversations and great movies, and he never met a person who wasn't instantly welcomed as a friend. He was known for picking up the tab, his gracious tips, volunteering at his church, and for treating everyone he met with kindness. All who know him will miss his practical jokes, his infectious laugh, and his genuine hugs.

Above all, he will be missed by his family. His children and grandchildren were the center of his world, and they will remember him and keep his legacy alive especially at all the places he loved most: every cook out, every baseball game, and every family holiday.

A celebration of life will be held at Courthouse Community United Methodist Church on February 2, 2023 at 1:00 PM.

Sending out prayers to the family of Mr. Hamilton. I had the privilege to work with him in the rehab department at Lake Taylor Hospital on several of his stays with us. He became a good friend. He was kind, funny, and brave. He talked passionately about the love he had for his kids and grandchildren. My guess is he is arranging a baseball game in heaven right now. With sympathy, Karen Moore
