Louise Wadsworth Obituary

Louise Anna Wadsworth, 79, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2021 with her family by her side. Born in Norfolk, she was a lifelong resident of Hampton Roads. A graduate of Maury High School, Louise spent 30 years in the financial industry, where she received numerous awards and accolades. But her finest achievement was her family.

Louise was fond of saying, "You can't wait around for life to happen, you have to get up and make it happen!" She demonstrated this joyful spirit with her many interests - gardening, knitting, dancing, shopping, word search puzzles, family events and especially bonding with her dog, Coco.

She was preceded in death by her former husband, Ronnie Wadsworth and her beloved pet, Coco.

Louise will be greatly missed by her two daughters, Rhonda Robinett (Jim) of Chesapeake, and Pam Cunningham of Virginia Beach, three grandchildren, Kayley Tylman (Danny), Blair Ray (Nick), and Kody Cunningham, and former son-in-law, Shane Cunningham. She touched many lives with unconditional love, kindness and generosity and was equally blessed with loving friends and caring neighbors.

Cremation & Funeral Services of Tidewater is assisting her family. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Louise's family would like to extend a special thank you to caregiver, Khadija Essaadi, for her love and support.

I worked for many years with Louise and she was a kind and loving person..She so loved her family and spoke of them daily at work.. The world was a better place because she was in it.

It was my pleasure to have been friends with Louise for the last decade. Always nice to talk to, she was always ready to offer some good words of advice. When she would walk Coco we would always stop and talk..."I don't know what I would do with out my little Coco" she would always say. I always enjoyed the diligence and persistence she displayed while constantly working to keep her yard meticulously clean. I am glad we were able to feature her in the civic league newsletter a while back; she will be sorely missed by her neighbors. My condolences to her family and friends, may she rest in peace.

Ms. Louise, our dear friend and neighbor, you brought a bright light to our neighborhood as you greeted any passerby with a smile and pleasant conversation. We listened to your words of encouragement and words of wisdom and shared many laughs as we worked on our lawns. It’s hard to believe we will never see you piddling around the yard as we look out our window but will strongly imagine you there forever. Rest In Peace our dear friend, we look forward to the day we meet again.

I am so sorry for the loss of your mom and grandmom. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
My parents bought the house on Jouett Lane in 1963, I think. We grew up next door to the Wadsworths! I used to play kickball in front of our house with Rhonda and Pam until the street light came on!
We played barbies in our front yards and “school”. We thought we were big stuff when we could ride our bikes around the block! We grew up on a street where everyones parents ( including the Breedens and Jones) looked out for all of us and kept us safe and in line.
I’ve reflected on lots of memories today... I remember when Louise put up an aluminum Christmas tree! My dad, Bayne, used to tease Louise about hanging her clothes on the clothesline in her housecoat! She would giggle over that!
In October 2017, my sisters and I drove past our old house and there was Louise doing something on her porch in her housecoat. We stopped for a visit and she still loved to talk!!
May all the great memories you have bring you peace and comfort.
