Mary Virginia Super Slovic

Virginia Beach - Mary Virginia (Ginny) Super Slovic entered eternal peace on January 5, 2018. She was born on May 6, 1924 in Syracuse, NY and grew up in Petersburg, VA. She graduated from Duke University in 1945 and in 1948 received her Master of Social Work from Boston College. She worked in several states before marrying William Stephen Slovic in 1951.

Ginny was predeceased by her husband and her parents, Wallace Franklin Super and Clara Anne Pierce Super. She is survived by her brother Albert Pierce Super; her children Stephanie Slovic Donlan (Rodney), William Stephen Slovic, Jr., and Anne Pierce Slovic; her grandchildren Timothy William Donlan (Stephanie), Michael Stephen Donlan, and Anna Catherine Donlan; and her great-grandchildren Porter William Donlan, Jack Sparks Donlan, Virginia Grace (Ginny) Donlan, and Patrick Timothy Donlan.

A faithful member of Star of the Sea Catholic Church for more than fifty years, Ginny served in a variety of ministries, including the Social Outreach program for the last fifteen years.

Visitation will be on Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 1:30-3:00 p.m. at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., 2002 Laskin Road, Virginia Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 12:00 pm at Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 1400 Pacific Avenue, Virginia Beach. Burial will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. Laskin Road Chapel is handling arrangements. Online condolences can be made to the family at hdoliver.com
