Gordon,

I am very sorry to learn of the passing of your mother and I offer my deepest sympathies. Although I live out of state, my family home is in Isle of Wight County not far from Southampton, and our mailing address is Ivor. I certainly hope we can connect and talk. Please know that the love and support of all of your friends and fraternity brothers from Hampton extend to you and your family.

Yours In The Bond,

Mrs. Mcclenny was a pillar of strength to her community and church family. I always admired her and her family. I went to school with Lorraine and Meade. I pray that God will continue to Bless this family.

I got to know and like Mrs. McClenny when she and Kitty Futrell were working on their joint venture, STILL SITS THE LITTLE SCHOOLHOUSE. Their efforts produced a book that continues to sell periodically. They provided a service to present and future citizens of Southampton County.

My prayers for great strength and God's blessings go to the McClenny and Sykes Families. My fondest memories take me back to Little Gilfield Baptist Church (Ivor, VA) when this dignified gracious lady stood next to my mother in the choir, singing alto. Her wonderful spirit and friendliness surrounded everyone and shall always be remembered. Families, remember that many people loved Miss Mildred deeply. May she always rest in peace in the ARMS of JESUS.
