Norma Jean W. Bunch

Suffolk - Norma Jean Whitehurst Bunch, 84, died May 21, 2016, in Suffolk. She was born November 26, 1931 in Gates County, N.C. to the late William Jackson Whitehurst and Rosa Marie Baker Whitehurst. She was predeceased by her older sisters, Nellie Whitehurst Champion and Willie Baker Honeycutt.

Jean was also predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Murray C. Bunch. Her memory will be cherished by her daughter, Cindy (Larry) Chavis of Suffolk, sons: Kenneth (Mabel) Bunch of Carrsville: Keith (Carla) Bunch of Chesapeake; and Bobby (Debbie) Bunch of Suffolk. Grandchildren: Kimberly Vick, Kristen Bass, Courtney Hirneisen, Kent Bunch, Kirk Bunch, Brittany Weisinger, Brent Bunch, Brooke Bunch; and thirteen great-grandchildren. She also survived by her sisters: Catherine Hurdle and Syble Whitley; and brother, William J. (Betty) Whitehurst, JR.

The family will receive friends Monday, May 23, 2016 from 4 to 6 PM at R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W Washington St., Suffolk. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that individuals make memorial contributions to the charity of their choice. The burial will be private. Condolences may be offered at www.RWBakerFH.com.
