Richard Linehan Obituary

Richard J. Linehan, Sr. unexpectedly left this world on April 22, 2023 while resting in his favorite chair. "Rich," as he was known, was a decorated war veteran, proudly serving two tours in Vietnam with the Marine Corps. "Hoorah" Following that, Rich made a name for himself in Real Estate, quickly becoming President of his company. He was their top seller for multiple years. After many years of selling homes and managing properties, Rich decided It was time to get outdoors and make beautiful those homes and businesses he once sold. This is where "Rich Lawns" was born. Rich Lawns quickly built a reputation for itself by offering quality service at a fair price. After 30 years of proudly servicing many homeowners and businesses throughout the Hampton Roads area, Rich decided it was time to hang up the boots and relax. That did not last long as he quickly started to work for his son, Rich Linehan Jr, who also owns a landscaping business. Rich Sr. became the Quality Control Manager. It did not take long for him to become a client favorite and clients began to call the office and ask for "Pops", a name given to him by his loved ones.

Rich had a strong faith in Christ. He became involved in men's ministry, focusing on prison ministry. In his leisure time, he enjoyed golfing and fishing. One of his biggest joys was attending the sports activities of his grandchildren. Rich is survived by his loving wife Luz Linehan, son Richard J Linehan Jr, (Scarlet Byrd), daughters Kelly D. Linehan, Maegan Watson (Robert Watson), Dana Waterfield, 10 Grandchildren, Dylan, Landyn, Haley, Madison, Sydney, Hailey, Seth, Khloe, Hannah and Justin, as well as 6 Great-Grandchildren. He is also survived by his stepson, Elio Santiago, and his Mother-in-Law, Yolanda Perez. Luz wishes to thank God for her time with her dear husband, Rich. She and the family invite all those that loved our dear Pops to a Celebration of Rich's Life on April 29, 2023 at Nueva Vida Church at 2:00 PM., at 1100 Indian Lake Place, Virginia Beach, VA 23464.

He will be laid to rest at a private graveside service with Military Honors, attended by his family.
