Robert Ohman Obituary

Robert M. Ohman NORFOLK - Robert Melvin Ohman, 88, of the 8100 block of Old Ocean View Road, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2011. Bob was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War, Korea, Dominican Republic and Vietnam. He was the Past Master of Ocean View Lodge No. 335 and a member in good standing of many other Masonic Orders and a 33rd Degree Mason. He is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Ann Jones of Norfolk and Shirley Jean Floyd and husband William of Virginia Beach; two brothers, Melvin W. Ohman Jr. of Minneapolis and John H. Ohman of Springfield, Va.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by wife, Jean Ohman; son, Robert Melvin Ohman II; daughter, Nancy Sharon Vance; brothers, James H. Ohman and Joseph K. Ohman; and second wife Evelyn Ohman. Masonic Rites will be accorded at 6 p.m. today at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, where the family will remain until 8 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Timothy Lutheran Church with Pastor David Penman officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the Semper Fi Foundation or the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
