Roger Early Obituary
Born in Norfolk, he was the son of Loyce Campen Early and the late Henry William Early, Sr. He was also predeceased by two siblings, Raymond Early and Anita Turner. Roger was a 1971 Oscar Smith High School graduate, a 1975 graduate from the University of Richmond, where he was in Phi Gamma Delta, and earned his Master's Degree in 1980 from the University of Virginia. Roger retired after a 40-year career in banking, having worked at First Virginia Bank, Bank of the Commonwealth and Northern Star Credit Union, where he was the President and CEO. Roger was an avid golfer and member of the Greenbrier Country Club.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 44 years, Sharon L. Early; children, Jessica E. Meier (Russell), Gregory S. Early (Nicole); grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jacob and Joshua Meier, Ryan and Elise Early; siblings Billy Early, Jr., Sandra Smith, and DeAnn Tuttle.
Roger's life will be celebrated at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Roger E. Early Memorial Fund for the benefit of the Chesapeake Regional Medical Center Cancer Treatment Center.
