Not the same Wayne (Jarvis) Rountree from 'Match Game 74'. That's (Earl) Wayne Rountree (III) as W(J)R hasn't lived in Dallas, Texas. While (E)WR (III) has. However, both have since gone on to pass.

My nephew, Wayne, was important to me in so many ways. When I was young. because we were close in age, I was invited to spend a week with him . I especially remember the candy store that was a couple of blocks from his home.

We grew up together and on weekends his family would come down to visit .
We often played games - basketball and board games and cards, so we started practicing early for our senior card playing years and trips to Myrtle Beach, etc.

My greatest memories are the fun and laughter we had in those senior years acting like children with our funny gifts, hats , board and card games.

I also appreciate Joyce, who was always supportive to me and my family and stood by Wayne faithfully until his passing.

Wayne, may you rest in peace.

Love in Christ

I have many memories of Wayne from when I was growing up and spending time with Brenda and the rest of the Rountree family. One moment that stands out was the day Wayne took me on my first motorcycle ride when I was a kid. It was only about two blocks down the road from their home and back but it was a big deal to me. I am so very sorry for the loss of such a special man. I'm holding you all in prayer for the coming days. Sent with lots of love.

Years ago I ask God for a good man, he sent me Glenn. God went above and beyond when he answered that prayer he blessed me with a wonderful family. They all made me feel like family and Wayne was a big brother I never had. He was a jokester and full of humor. When Wayne, Ronnie & Glenn were together they would make you laugh til you cried. There were so many wonderful memories of love, laughter & caring that we will all miss but the wonderful part is he is no longer in pain & he is in heaven. We will miss you but we will see you again!!! Love, prayers and Hugs to Joyce, Russ and his family, Mike, Glenn, Brenda & Keith...❤❤❤

I met Wayne through my husband 5 years ago. He was friendly, polite, and a good conversationalist . Wayne displayed care and concern for those who were struggling. Even though his struggles were great,he remained hopeful and believed in the promise. Wayne leaves behind a legacy of love and perseverance. To his family, this is a time of sadness in their loss, but celebration in his victory. May you all be comforted in knowing he is at peace. Love and prayers

Wayne and I first met over thirty years ago while we were working for Dominion Power. We became very good friends and found we both enjoyed riding motorcycles. After we both retired, we had more time doing what we enjoyed, and that was riding our Harley Davidsons.
Wayne fought valiantly battling cancer! I will certainly miss him, but I know I will see him again one day. Rest in peace, my dear brother.

May the peace of God be with the Joyce and the family.

Since losing my brother, the last few days have been an emotional roller coaster. I have joy in knowing that he suffers no more pain and that he is with our Lord. I also have sorrow when I think of the many, many memories of having him as a brother. He always had time fo me, when I wanted to talk or visit. I will miss the woodworking shop talks and tool store shopping sprees with lunch included. What a great brother God gave me. I will see him again, some day.

Wayne was not only a brother to me, but a best friend. I will miss him dearly. The many days riding the Harley's together. Working on many different projects together. Going out to lunch all the time. He helped me through many tough times in my life also. He would do anything for me and anyone else he was involved with. He was a very strong provider for his family in which he loved dearly. Life won't be the same without him. Ride on my brother. Love you with all my heart.
