Willie Brinkley Obituary
Chesapeake - Willie Plummer Brinkley, Sr. 86, passed into eternal rest on Wednesday January 23, 2013. He was born in Halifax County, North Carolina to George Sr. and Susannah Lynch Brinkley. He was the widower of Daisy Brinkley. Mr. Brinkley was a member of Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith. He retired from the Water Department of the City of Norfolk. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was predeceased by his first wife Essie Belle Winston Brinkley. He is survived by his children Gladys Taylor, Wilbert Brinkley, Wiley Brinkley, Wilma Brinkley Hill, Wesley Brinkley, Winifred Brinkley Hodges, Winford Brinkley, Wyman Brinkley and Wynola Brinkley Gardner. He was predeceased by three children, Willie Brinkley Jr. Warren Brinkley and Wade Brinkley. He is also survived by brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. A funeral will be conducted on Tue. Jan. 29, 2013 at 11 a.m. at The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith, 411 E. Liberty Street. Burial will be in Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. Riddick Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
